The volunteers at Tulsa Garden Center are the mainstay of our operation. Our volunteers come with varying degrees of gardening experience (we’ll even admit we’ve turned a few brown thumbs green over the years).  Our volunteers are the reason for our continued success.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Docents — for house, conservatory and gardens (weather permitting) — tours are scheduled upon requests of clubs, schools or other groups. Training is provided.

  • Library — help patrons find information, check out/in materials for TGC members — hours are 9am-4pm Monday-Friday (typing helpful but not necessary).

  • Mailing — help fold and label bulk mailings as needed.

Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Rose Garden/Woodward Park — assist Park Department personnel from mid-April through October — can be done at volunteer’s convenience but some initial training is required.

  • Children’s Programming — serve on steering committee; assist with planting gardens and programming…May and June

Special Events:

  • SpringFest — April – serve on steering committee; help solicit and receive plants, help set up market, work during sale days as cashier, vendor assistant, or “floater”, help with clean up following sale.

  • An Evening of Wine and Roses — September – serve on steering committee;  help on day and evening of the event.
