An ‘Arboretum’ is like a museum. It is a place for public exhibition and a study of a collection of trees and shrubs. Arboretums throughout the country present many different types of tree and shrub collections.
The Woodward Park Arboretum features native trees and shrubs. Non-native ornamental trees are also included, but eighty of the ninety-six trees and shrubs present are natives or native cultivars found in the eastern forest region. All of the plants in this arboretum have significant landscape value and horticultural interest, and grow well in the Tulsa area.
